CNC Lathe Machinist

Responsibilities

You’ll make tight tolerance machined parts for the aerospace industry and will be responsible to run and set up the machines and tooling on CNC Mori Seiki and Hardinge Lathe Machines. You’ll do some programming at the machine using Fanuc controls.  Runs are short (typically 30-40 parts), with the occasional longer run.

Qualifications

  • Able to edit programs at the machine while also adjusting feeds and speeds
  • Able to run all multi-axis/multi-spindle CNC Lathe Turning machines with live tooling using Fanuc and Haas control in the shop efficiently
  • Must understand materials, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, coolant requirements and machining techniques
  • Able to use shop math through trigonometry
  • Machine part effectively from print by following production procedures
  • Able to machine from bar stock and raw castings
  • Inspection and completion of inspection report and signing and documenting date compliance sheets
  • 2 year technical degree in CNC Machining or 3 to 7 years of previous industry related experience (Mechanical related Associates degree a plus)
  • Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process related problems is strongly preferred
  • Understanding knowledge of Fanuc and Haas Control Turing Machines
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Able to meet deadlines and prioritize competing demands
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds, bending, scooping and repetitive motions
