Highlights

The Site Safety Specialist will be instrumental in coordinating, developing and implementing safety programs for this site under the direction of the plant manager. This person will be continuously improving processes and procedures to keep the facility in compliance with all health and safety regulations. Goals will be to reduce work related injuries/illness for site staff.

Responsibilities

Coordinate between company departments to identify, improve and implement safety initiatives and plans.
Oversee, train, test and supervise staff regarding compliance with regulations and laws related to their jobs.
Lead and develop projects with regard to improving safety objectives
Evaluate, audit, inspect and investigate accidents while assisting in corrective actions.
Assess new and modified equipment to make sure they meet safety requirements.
Resolve issues and train staff on site safety programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Safety Engineering or related discipline
2+ years hands on experience in a safety field especially in manufacturing environments
Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, NEC, ANSI regulations
